ATS registers case against missing Mumbai youth for "advocacy"

Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad today registered a case against Ayaz Sultan, a youth from Malwani area of city who has been missing since October 30, for "advocacy" of ISIS.

A case was registered against him this evening under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for advocacy and support for ISIS, ATS chief Vivek Phansalkar said.

Ayaz Sultan, Wajid Shaikh, Noor Mohammed and Mohsin Sayeed had left their homes in Malwani, allegedly to join ISIS. Sheikh was tracked down by ATS near Pune on December 23 while Noor returned home the following day.

Sultan and Mohsin are still missing.

According to police, Sultan had told his parents that he was going to Pune in connection with a job offer from a Kuwait-based firm.
