An attempt by a leopard to attack a woman estate worker triggered panic at Valapara in the district, today.
The woman had gone to fetch water in Kurangumudi Estate, when a leopard suddenly appeared from behind a bush and chased her for a distance before stopping as she ran into her house, police said.
Efforts are on to catch the leopard, forest department officials said.
