Auto driver killed as train rams vehicle

An autorickshaw driver was today killed when an express train hit his vehicle at an unmanned level crossing gate near here, officials said.

The driver did not notice the Pothigai Express approaching and tried to cross the track and the train hit the autorickshaw and dragged it for 200 metres, officials said.

The train driver informed railway officials and resumed the journey after a 30-minute delay.
