Citing poor quality construction of the bathing platform, Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Azam Khan today refused to inaugurate a 'pucca ghat' built on the banks of river Ganga here.

The state Urban Development minister told mediapersons that he did so owing to the poor quality of material used in the construction of the Rs 4.5 crore ghat.

Khan has also order the district magistrate at the site to take suitable action against the erring construction, whose 75 per cent expenditure was borne by the Central tourism ministry and the remaining by the state government.
