Badal holds Sangat Darshan for NRIs in Moga

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today held a 'Sangat Darshan' (people meeting exercise) here for Non Resident Indians to redress their grievances speedily.

NRIs hailing from eight districts -- Moga, Bathinda, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Mansa, Muktsar and Barnala participated in the first ever Sangat Darshan programme (people meeting exercise), said an official release here.

Earlier, the state government had been holding NRI meets annually to redress their grievances.

Under the 'Sangat Darshan' programmes, Badal meets people at different places to redress their grievances on the spot.

On this occasion, Badal personally interacted with NRI's of Punjab origin in the presence of senior government officials and issued necessary directions to official concerned for immediate resolution of their issues, said the release.
 

In order to ensure on the spot solution of the problems faced by these NRIs, the top brass of police and civil administration from these districts were deployed at the venue of this function.

Badal further said such 'Sangat Darshan' would also be held in Jalandhar and Ludhiana, saying that the sole aim of this entire exercise was to ensure quick disposal of services to the NRIs at their doorsteps.

Chief Minister asked the officers to accord top priority to complaints received during the Sangat Darshan for there immediate resolution.

Badal also asked the NRI Affairs Minister Tota Singh to conduct periodic review meetings later on to take stock of the pendency of all these complaints.
