A local court here today dismissed the bail petitions of seven bookies, who were arrested by the Tamil Nadu CB-CID last week, in connection with the IPL betting case.
After the prosecution raised their objection, XI Metropolitan Magistrate Saravanan dismissed their bail pleas and said "At this stage of the bail cannot be granted."
Prasanth M Paun, Sunil Bajanlal, Harish Bajaj, Vedachalam alias Virudhachalam, Deepak Bajaj, Lucky alias Narpath and Pappu alias Praveen Kumar were arrested and cases under IPC sections 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and unde rthe Tamil Nadu Gaming Act registered against them.
