A high court chief justice today survived a powerful bomb explosion targeting his convoy in Pakistan's restive southwest Balochistan province.
The convoy of Noor Muhammad Maskanzai, Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, was targeted through a remote-controlled blast at Kharan bridge near Nushki town.
A police official said that the judge was coming from his home town Kharan to Nushki when he was attacked by a roadside bomb. The explosion partially destroyed the bridge.

"The CJ had a lucky escape but a security car in his convoy was damaged by the blast," he said.
"Justice Noor Muhammad Maskanzai is safe," a spokesman for the provincial government confirmed.
Maskanzai was visiting the areas to review the performance of the lower courts in the province.
Nobody took responsibility of the attack but Baloch nationalists often target officials in the province.
