A Bangladeshi national was arrested today for allegedly attempting to secure a passport by producing forged documents to the Regional Passport Office (RPO) here, police said.

The man identified as Md Basir was booked after the officials of the RPO found mismatch in his identification proof.

As Basir's application for passport was rejected, he made a scene at the passport office. Following this, he was detained and subsequently arrested.

Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said, "We are trying to find out from where he got the documents and for how many days he has been staying here. He is being interrogated."

Basir's voter's identity card had a number which was allotted to a woman in Jajpur district, said an official at the RPO.

The RPO officials' suspicion grew during document verification. The doubts deepened when the applicant was unable to speak neither Odia nor Hindi.

He also could not remember the residence address mentioned in his school leaving certificate (SLC) and the voter ID card.
Singh appealed to the state government officials and

lawmakers for their cooperation and suggestion to the ministry on how to streamline the process of obtaining passport.

Rijiju while speaking on the occasion called for inculcating team spirit among the ministers and legislators to bring development in the state.

"Ways should be identified as to how to solve the problems of the people. If we cannot deliver up to the expectations of the people, they will not forgive us. Without delivery no government can survive," he said.

Pointing out that the Team Arunachal concept would fail if every citizen was not made a part of the team, Rijiju urged the state government to take people into confidence in all its plan and policies.
