Bangladeshi national detained

A Bangladeshi national was today detained after he was allegedly found moving suspiciously in cantonment area here.

According to police sources, Haffizurahman, a native of Dhaka, was detained for questioning after he was found roaming in cantonment area by army officials this afternoon.

He claimed that he came to Kanpur from Bihar to get a job but failed to get any, they said.

On being contacted, Cantt Police Station Circle Officer DSP Parvit Mohan Tripathi said army has detained a person but has not handed him over to the police nor given any written information on the matter.
