RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will inaugurate a conclave being organised by the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat -- a Sangh affiliate -- to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th sikh guru.

The event, to be held on October 25 at Talkatora Stadium here, will be attended by a few prominent Sikh religious leaders, the Sangat's chief, Gurcharan Singh Gill said today.

"Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat will inaugurate the event, which is being organised to mark the 350 years of anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh," Gill told PTI.

"The organisation has also invited Home Minister Rajnath Singh," Gill said.

Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth and last Sikh Guru was born on 22 December, 1666.

In a separate statement, the RSS' Punjab chief, Brij Bhushan Singh Bedi, said the Sangh respects Sikh religion and the Sikhs have a separate identity.

"But misconceptions are being spread about the RSS' stand in some quarters," he said, adding that the Sangh has always respected all the Sikh gurus and celebrated all the festivals related to the religion.
