Bhavanisagar dam to be opened from tomorrow

Following requests from farmers from Erode district, Tamil Nadu government today announced releasing water from Bhavanisagar dam for irrigation from tomorrow.

"On the request from farmers, it is being ordered to release water from Bhavanisagar dam through Arakkankottai and Thadappalli channels for irrigation from tomorrow," Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said in a statement.

The release of water would benefit over 24,504 acre of farmlands spread of Gobichettipalayam and Bhavani areas of Erode district.
