Bihar govt to pay compensation to farmers for poor maize crop

Kumar today said the will compensate farmers who suffered losses due to poor crop.

Replying to a question by member Tara Kishore Prasad in the state Assembly, Kumar said government will compensate all such farmers who incurred losses owing to plants not yielding grains.

The has decided to give compensation to farmers in Seemanchal, Kosi and other districts after carrying out a proper inquiry, he said.

The said that the inquiry showed that farmers who sowed seeds in October, could get 50 per cent of grains in maize plant, while those who sowed in the first week of November, had 100 per cent grains.
