Ronit Singh Bisht ousted sixth seed Vinayakar Sharma Kaza in the first round of Justice P S Kailasam Centenary GNC ITF Men's Futures Tennis Championships here today.

Bisht beat Kaza 6-4 6-7(5) 6-2.

Ronit was cruising from the start to win the first set but in the second Kaza fought back to claim the set through a tie break. In the third set Ronit then proved to be too steady and crafty for a tiring Kaza and won 6-2 to enter the second round.

In another three setter, fifth seed Mohit Mayur served powerfully and displayed elegant back hand down the lines to win the first set 6-3 against Chandril Sood.

Mohit had a lapse of concentration and a highly motivated Chandril made the most of it to win the second set 6-2. In the third, Mohit was simply too powerful for the talented Chandril.

Vishnu Vardhan, the No. 2 seed, gave a tennis lesson to young qualifier Prajwal Dev as the former won 6-2 6-3, while V.M. Ranjeet (4th Seed) scored a routine straight set victory over Lakshit Sood.

Wild card entrant Prajnesh Gunneswaran possessed a wide repertoire of powerful strokes to romp home in straight sets against Jeson Patrombon of Philippines 6-2, 6-1.

The other wild card entrant Isa Mammetgulyyev (TKM) was too good for Nitin Kumar Sinha. Nitin could manage to win only one game.
