BJP MLA C C Patil injured in gun-fire

Former Karnataka Minister C C Patil, a BJP MLA from Nargund, was injured in a gun-fire at a village in Gadag district today, police said.

It was not immediately clear as to whether the gun-shot was by "accident" or he was "purposefully" fired at, Gadag Superintendent of Police S D Sharanappa told PTI on phone.

Patil has been admitted to a hospital and is now out of danger, he said.

The MLA was on a visit to Menasige village in Ron taluk when the incident happened, Sharanappa said.
