Uttar Pradesh Transport and Energy Minister, Swatantra Dev Singh, today said that the BJP would defeat nine-time Chhindwara Lok Sabha MP Kamal Nath in the 2019 general elections.
He alleged that Nath, the Congress' Madhya Pradesh chief, was winning elections on account of "money and muscle power" and "appeasement".
"We will win the Lok Sabha and all seven assembly seats from Chhindwara this time. He (Nath) has been winning with the help of money and muscle power and also appeasement," Singh told PTI.
Singh is the BJP's Lok Sabha in charge for Chhindwara and was here as part of its campaign for the forthcoming state Assembly polls slated for later this year and the general polls in 2019.
He exuded confidence that the BJP would return to power in MP and at the Centre under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi respectively.
He said that the BJP government was providing health and other facilities to people and compensation to farmers which the Congress had failed to do in the last six decades.
