The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) has slammed the government for its demonetisation move, saying farmers are not getting cash despite having money in their bank accounts.
"After standing in queue for the whole day, the banks are allowing withdrawal of only Rs 2,000," BKU president Naresh Tikait said.
He claimed about 4,000 garment manufacturing units have been badly affected, and 6,000 labourers became jobless in Muzaffarnagar district alone.
