The body of an Army personnel was today found floating in a well on the Ayodhya hills in the district, 50 km from here, police said.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Lambaji, a member of the 12 Naga Battalion stationed in the hills, Purulia district police superintendent Rupesh Kumar said.
Lambaji had been missing since last Monday and a missing diary had been filed by the commandant of the battalion in a local police station, the SP said.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem to the Sadar Hospital, the SP said adding that the police probing the death.
