District Election Officer Vinod Rao called upon booth level officers of the district to make a sincere, enthusiastic, determined and wholehearted effort to achieve maximum voting percentage during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"It is our moral duty to create awareness among voters and encourage them to exercise their franchise in the larger interest of healthy democracy," he said.
While addressing a booth level officers' seminar at Sir Sayaji Nagar Gruh in the city today, Rao said, "We have drawn up a strategic plan to reach out to 22.5 lakh voters in ten assembly constituencies of Vadodara district by utilising services of block level officers.

According to the plan, booth level officers would undertake door-to-door contact in their respective areas and distribute forms to each and every family by April 10, appealing voters to cast their votes.
The filled-up forms having signatures of every member of the family registered as a voter, will be collected by April 15 by booth level officers.
During the third phase, booth level officers would once again reach out to voters for distribution of photo voters' slips and a letter of appeal from the district election officer to exercise their franchise.
"Booth level officers can play a significant role in election management, since they are stakeholders who can bring about a major change and encourage people to cast their vote by their sincere field work," Rao said.
The Vadodara district administration's initiative is part of the Election Commission of India's Systematic Voters' Education for Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme to increase voting percentage.
