Boy succumbs to injuries, death toll rises to 2 in accident

The death toll in the Yamuna expressway accident today rose to two as the boy, who was critically injured, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital here, police said today.

Deepanshu, a relative's child travelling with the family of MCD deputy Commissioner, died late last night, Surir police station SHO Munish Chandra said.

The mishap took place yesterday when MCD Deputy Commissioner Suresh Chandra Yadav (58) was travelling with his wife Pushpa Devi, daughter Shilpi and a boy in a car which hit the divider and overturned on Yamuna Expressway near Lamtauri village under Surir police station, they said.

They were rushed to a hospital in Noida, where Yadav succumbed to his injuries while the boy was in critical condition.
 

They were going to Agra to participate in a marriage function when the accident occurred.
