Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said he would take decision on seeking CBI probe into bribery scandal involving the US firm Louis Berger only after studying inquiry report by the crime branch.
The crime branch of Goa police has started investigation into the statements by Louis Berger officials that they bribed Indian ministers to win consultancy contracts for water augmentation and sewerage projects in Goa and Guwahati.
"In the next three days, crime branch will submit a report. Only after getting the report we will take a call on whether to request CBI to take over investigation," Parsekar told reporters today after attending a meeting of BJP MLAs.
At the meeting, where strategy for coming Assembly session beginning from July 27 was discussed, all the 21 MLAs of the ruling party demanded CBI probe into the case.
Two other projects -- Vasco-Dona Paula sealink and Mopa international airport -- should also be probed as the same company was associated with them, a resolution passed at the meeting said.
The legislators also demanded that all the developmental projects taken up during the tenure of Digambar Kamat-led previous government should be probed.
