A body of British-Indian Muslims, Council of Indian Muslims (UK), has strongly condemned the brutal murder of a British soldier by two assailants in south-east London.

"Like all fellow citizens we are appalled at this sickening and outrageous brutality displayed in our city. Our thoughts and prayers go to the deceased soldier and his family" Chairman of the body, Munaf Zeena said in a statement today.

"Nothing can justify this beastliness. By remaining united in our belief in peace and love our communities have made such madness ineffective before and God willing we will disappoint these deranged criminals on this occasion too," Zeena said.

Hindu Forum of Britain said it is at loss for words to condemn the horrendous incident that occurred in Woolwich on Wednesday.

"This is an inhuman act, an expression of the unadulterated evil inspired by a heinous ideology. We express our sincere condolence to the bereaved family and to the nation for the loss of life of a brave soldier," Swaminathan Vaidyanathan, Acting Secretary General of the Forum said in a statement.
