Can make film on Indian cabbies in Oz: Eleni Bertes

Eleni Bertes, a producer based in Australia, says she could make a film on Indian-origin cab drivers in the country.

"Since Australia has many Indian-origin cab drivers, who are doing so well, I think I could make a film on them or envisage them as characters in one of my next projects," Bertes said on the sidelines of IFFI.

Bertes along with other female filmmakers also discussed their films that are being screened at the film festival.

Indonesian filmmaker Mouly Surya's film 'What They Don't Talk About When They Talk About Love' set in Indonesia captures the sentiment of love amidst a school of visually impaired teenagers.
 

She said that the film sensitively captures the manner in which teenage love 'happens' to those who are visually impaired.

"Teenage love is very superficial. In the school of visually impaired children, the film shows how they explore love using other senses," Surya said, adding she had been developing the film for over three years.
