Cardamom prices fell by 0.71 per cent to Rs 1,129.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid easing demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October fell by Rs 8.10 or 0.71 per cent to Rs 1,129.50 per kg in business turnover of 202 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in September contracts traded lower by Rs 3.60 or 0.32 per cent to Rs 1,111.90 per kg in 42 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
