Cardamom falls by 1% on subdued demand

Besides, profit-booking by speculators dampened the sentiment

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices fell 1.05% to Rs 852.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid subdued demand in the spot market at existing higher levels.

Besides, profit-booking by speculators dampened the sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December fell by Rs 9.10, or 1.05%, to Rs 852.60 per kg in a business turnover of 328 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January 2015 shed Rs 8.20, or 0.91%, to Rs 883.50 per kg in 69 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to subdued demand in the spot market at existing higher levels against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
