Cardamom rises by 0.4% as demand picks up

Speculators created fresh positions at prevailing levels, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices moved up by 0.40% to Rs 832 per kg in futures trade today after speculators created fresh positions at prevailing levels, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for delivery in June month rose by Rs 3.30 or 0.40% to Rs 832 per kg in business turnover of 20 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in May contracts gained Rs 2.30 or 0.27% to Rs 840 per kg in 325 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators at existing levels after pick up in demand in the spot market, restricted arrivals from producing belts, influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
