Cardamom futures up 3.95 pc on strong demand

Cardamom prices rose by 3.95 per cent to Rs 830.60 per kg in futures trade today on account of good buying support from both exporters and upcountry buyers amid restricted arrivals.
Further, firm export demand in the spot market also supported the upside.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for April delivery surged Rs 31.60 or 3.95 per cent to Rs 830.60 per kg in a business volume of just two lots.

The spice for delivery in May gained Rs 4.70 or 0.54 per cent to Rs 861.60 per kg in a business volume of 447 lots.
Traders said that besides restricted supplies from producing belts, strong export and domestic demand also influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
