Cash, jewelry worth Rs 40 lakh stolen

Cash and jewelry worth Rs 40 lakh was allegedly stolen from a house in Malviya Nagar of south Delhi, police said today.

Thieves entered the house of Sweta, a Bharatnayam dancer, when she had gone to a nearby church along with her family and made away with the cash and jewelry meant for the victim's marriage which is fixed for May 1, police said.

A case has been lodged after recording the statement of the victim, police said.
