Castorseed prices drifted lower by Rs 27 to Rs 4,326 per quintal in futures trading today after traders booked profits at current levels amid a weak trend at the spot markets.
In futures trading at the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in most-active April month declined by Rs 27 or 0.62 per cent to Rs 4,326 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 90,900 lots.
Castorseed for delivery in March contracts also dropped by Rs 25 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 4,258 per quintal, in an open interest of 26,370 lots.
Marketmen said profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend at the spot markets on increased supplies amid slackness in demand from paint and lubricant industries, mainly led to fall in castorseed prices at futures trade here.
