In a major boost to its training capabilities in the area of cyber crime, the CBI has added third state-of-the-art laboratory in its academy in Ghaziabad to prepare its cadets for challenges arising from complex world of digital crimes.
The academy which trains officials for their service in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and other agencies of the country and abroad, the capabilities to train them in deciphering complex global digital exchanges remains key component of training, the officials said.
Skills in solving cyber crime is very important as almost every financial crime has some element of digital forensics involved in it, they said.
The latest laboratory will augment the training capabilities of the academy which has also got new sports complex with one squash court, two badminton courts, a gymnasium and a yoga centre of international standards.
The new facilities have been inaugurated by Director CBI Alok Verma.
He also released released four books and seven digests published by CBI Academy relating to Electronic Evidence, Anti-Corruption Cases, Scientific Aids to Investigation and Forensic Medicine and Scientific Interrogation and Interview Techniques.
"I have always believed that a major part of institution building is to document the experience of old, which can be analysed and distilled to provide a beacon of guidance to the young investigators and prosecutors," he said at the function held recently.
