Ch'garh govt to ensure toilets, potable water for all by 2018

The Chhattisgarh government has set a target of ensuring toilet facilities and clean drinking water in every household in the state in the next four years.

During a review meeting of the Urban Administration and Development Department at the Mantralaya today, Chief Minister Raman Singh directed senior officials to ensure that every needy household has access to toilets and domestic tap water connection by 2018, according to an official release here.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Amar Agrawal and Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand were present at the meeting, during which Singh also stressed on the need to provide internet facility at prominent places and near educational institutions in a bid "to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream of a digital India".
 

Singh asked officials to take steps for the development of wi-fi zones at public places, including near schools, colleges, collectorates, hospitals, bus stands and railway stations in the prominent cities, to ensure wireless internet connectivity.
