Official chair, other furniture and the car of a sub-divisional magistrate was today confiscated upon the order of a local court, for failing to release compensation amount awarded to a farmer nine years ago for land acquisition.
Court sources said that the state government had acquired 1.60 hectares land of the farmer Dhanku Badrinath Wagh at Mauj Nikkal village in Badnapur tehsil of the district for the for construction of a percolation tank in 2006.
In 2012, a local court ordered the government to pay him a compensation.

But the compensation was not paid in the last two years.
Today, the judge ordered the bailiff to confiscate the chair, car and furniture of SDM Shrikrishna Chinchkar.
The order was executed by the bailiff in the presence of advocates R J Bankar and Raju Wagh, the farmer's lawyers.
