Chana down 0.47% on profit-booking

Adequate stock positions in the physical market also put pressure on prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana prices declined by 0.47 per cent to Rs 3,206 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid sluggish demand in the physical market.

Adequate stock positions in the physical market also put pressure on chana prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in December fell by Rs 15, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 3,206 per quintal with an open interest of 72,960 lots.

The October contract shed Rs 3, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 3,231 per quintal in 63,110 lots.

Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market mainly led to the fall in chana prices in futures trade.
