Chana prices moved up by 0.47 per cent to Rs 4,277 per quintal in futures trade today as participants widened their bets, driven by good demand in the spot market.
In addition, restricted supplies from producing regions fuelled the uptrend.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in May rose Rs 20, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 4,277 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,670 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April traded higher by Rs 17, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 4,200 per quintal in 30,900 lots.
Analysts said besides upsurge in demand from dal mill in the spot market, restricted supplies from producing belts led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade.
