Irked by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy Chairman Priyadarshan's statement that former Cinema Minister K B Ganesh Kumar should be reinducted to the cabinet, government Chief Whip P C George said a "sub-standard" director like him should be removed from the post.
Talking to reporters here, he said filmmaker Priyadarshan had humiliated Chief Minister Oommen Chandy with his speech.
Taking back Ganesh Kumar would amount to taking back a "culprit" to the ministry, George, who kicked up the controversy over his extra-marital affair which led to Kumar's resignation, said.
George also remarked that Priyadarshan was "a sub-standard film-maker" and he should be removed from the post of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy Chairman, which was offered to him when Kumar was Cinema Minister.
