Children die of food poisoning in Assam

Two children today died while another of the same family is in serious condition in a suspected case of food poisoning here.

The children started vomiting after they consumed some peanuts brought from a vendor following which they were admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital.

Two of them have died while the third child of the family is in critical condition, a hospital spokesperson said.

The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained but it seems to be a case of food poisoning. The peanuts have been sent for tests, the spokesperson added.
