China had over 675,000 registered social organisations at the end of the third quarter in 2016, the government said today.
The organisations include 328,000 social groups, 342,000 social service agencies and 5,204 foundations, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said in a statement
Huang Shuxian, minister of civil affairs, called on the organisations to provide quality social services.
The minister urged civil affairs authorities at all levels to work with other authorities to improve their capabilities in supervising and serving social organisation, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
