CITU dist trade union leader dies in mishap

: The Namakkal district CITU leader Mohan died after the lorry he hitched a ride in from the bus stand rammed a roadside tree near Tiruchengode, police said.

Mohan (46) had attended the May Day celebrations here and gone to Tiruchengode on his two wheeler late last night, planning to take a bus from there to Pallipalayam. A lorry driver asked him the way to Erode, to which he replied he would do so if he gave him a lift.

The driver reportedly dozed off and the vehicle rammed a tree, killing Mohan on the spot.

He is married and has two children.
