As part of the ongoing 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', a cleanliness drive was today conducted at the Chandimandir Military station in Panchkula.
Sending the message of the Army being a pioneer in promoting 'cleaner and greener environment', the aim of the campaign was to create environment of cleanliness across the station, a release by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said.
The drive saw participation of maximum number of available officers -- including Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and other ranks.

It also resulted in mass awareness amongst the residents of need for clean and green environment for a healthy living, it said.
On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, a pledge was also taken by the Army re-dedicating itself to the cause of cleanliness, the release said.
