Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would leave for New Delhi tomorrow to get approval from the Centre for the new zonal system in the state.

Rao would leave for Delhi tomorrow morning to discuss with government officials concerned on the zonal system (concerning government employment), a release from his office said tonight.

"The chief minister will himself monitor the whole process of obtaining clearance and approval for the Zonal system.

The chief minister has also decided, to stay in New Delhi, if required for two, three days and also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, if necessary, to brief in detail about the necessity of Zonal system," it said.

"The Telangana Government has created the new zonal system to enable 95 per cent reservation in all employment opportunities to the locals.

The state government has requested the Government of India to agree to the Zonal system," the release said.

The Union Law Ministry and the Union Home Ministry have positively responded to the proposal, it said.

The concerned file has been forwarded to the Prime Ministers office, it said.

Since the matter pertaining to clearance of zonal system is at a crucial stage, the chief minister has decided to go to Delhi to personally monitor the whole process, it added.
