Cong claims victory after J'khand govt withdraws bills on

The today claimed its victory the announced withdrawal of bills relating to the amendment of Chhotanagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act and Santhal Pargana Tenancy (SPT) Act after they were returned by Governor Droupadi Murmu.

Former Union minister and spokesperson RPN Singh said this happened after a protest of the party at Ranchi yesterday.

Singh said the protest by the Congress at yesterday saw the police resorting to lathi-charge and use of water cannons to disperse party workers who tried to gherao the on the second day of the monsoon session.

The Congress workers also protested the government's failure to curb incidents of mob lynching and farmer suicides.

Singh alleged that the after coming to power has tried to "usurp" farmers' land and the Congress is fighting for them.
