To mark the completion of one year of the Congress-led government in Himachal Pradesh, the party has decided to organise a rally on December 25 in Hamirpur, the home town of former Chief Minister P K Dhumal.

In a release, Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma defended the state government's stand on the issue of adjournment motion, saying once the Speaker had rejected an adjournment motion, it could not be raised again during the same session.

However, the BJP did this today which led to rejection of the motion, they said.

Dubbing the allegations of BJP as "ridiculous", the ministers said the opposition was running away from discussion and the House could not discuss many important issues, most of them raised by BJP members.

Sharma said the BJP was trying to rake up the issue of purchase of shares by family members of the Chief Minister which was absolutely legal, but why they are silent on action of its leaders in converting the HP Cricket Association into a company which was "highly illegal".
