Six Congress MLAs, who were among those evicted from the Gujarat Assembly on March 26, approached the local police seeking action against the Deputy Speaker and three ministers of the BJP-led Gujarat government.
The Congress MLAs submitted an application to the police and also protested in the House by covering their mouths with black cloth bands after which they walked out.
In their application to the Sector-7 police station here, six Congress MLAs alleged that to stop the opposition's discussion related to the law and order situation in the House on March 26, state ministers Nitin Patel, Pradeepsinh Jadeja and Deputy Speaker Atmaram Parmar, who chaired the session that day, hatched a conspiracy against the Congress.

Led by Pravin Rathod, these MLAs alleged that as soon as they raised their voice against the meagre time alloted to the opposition to discuss budgetary allocations for the Home Department, Patel directed Parmar to call in sergeants.
The Congress MLAs alleged that based on Patel's directions, Parmar asked sergeants to act tough against the agitating Congress MLAs. Going against set rules, the Congress MLAs were mercilessly beaten up and manhandled by sergeants in the House, the application said.
"As a result, five of our MLAs, including Pravin Rathod, Prahlad Patel, Baldevji Thakor, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, Anil Joshiara and Mohammad Javid Pirzada received serious injuries," the Congress MLAs' application stated.
"So we want to the police to file an FIR against state health minister Nitin Patel, law minister Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Deputy Speaker Atmaram Parmar and all those sergeants," the Congress MLAs' application to the police said.
After receiving the application, Sector-7 police inspector Mini Joseph said that she would approach Speaker Ganpat Vasava to enquire about the matter.
