Congress MLA, former MLA trade accusations, police cases filed

Police today registered cases of assault against Congress MLA Vamsichand Reddy and former legislature P Vishnuvardhan Reddy after the two leaders filed complaints against each other.
Vamsichand Reddy, who represents Kalwakurthy in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, lodged a complaint with Madhapur police station, alleging that former Congress MLA P Vishnuvardhan Reddy and his followers assaulted him and his bodyguard at a wedding earlier today.
Vishnuvardhan Reddy, in turn, lodged a complaint with Madhapur police claiming that it was the MLA and his bodyguard who beat him up, ACP M Ramana Kumar said.
Police have registered cases under sections 324 (causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation), the ACP said.
