Constable posted at Maha minister's bungalow dies on duty

A constable posted at the official bungalow of a Maharashtra minister today died after he fainted while on duty, a police official said.
Vijay Maruti Sawant (50), complained of giddiness and fainted at around 6:30pm today after which he was rushed to Elizabeth Hospital in Malabar Hill where doctors declared him dead on arrival, an official said.
The constable was a resident of the Worli Police Camp in central Mumbai, the official added.
An accidental death report (ADR) has been registered at Malabar Hill police station and efforts to ascertain the cause of death were underway, he informed.
