A 58-year-old sub-inspector, posted in the security wing of L-G House, was injured when his service revolver "accidentally" went off today, police said.
Police said the incident took place around 8.20 AM this morning when Ajit was posted near the reception at L-G house.
"As per initial investigation, it seems Ajit suffered bullet wound in his stomach when his service revolver accidentally went off when he was putting it in its holster," a senior police officer, adding, they are also investigating whether it was a suicide attempt.
Ajit was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition is said to be normal, the officer added.
