To streamline the process of procurement of drugs and medical equipment in the state, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to set up Haryana Medical Services Corporation Limited.
Hooda, during a meeting of health department authorities here, said the Corporation would be an autonomous body with financial and administrative powers.
The aim of the corporation will be to ensure purchase, storage and distribution of drugs, medicines, equipment, their timely supply and technical support. Also, it will simplify indenting process to facilitate timely order and efficient online monitoring of supply chain, an official release said.

Hooda directed the concerned officers of the department to ensure timely delivery of services to the patients, including medicines and other medical assistance.
The state government was committed to provide free medicines in all government hospitals under its free drug policy introduced in 2009, he said.
Hooda was informed that the Corporation would cover all health institutions, including government medical colleges.
