A court here directed the police to register an FIR against four persons in connection with a murder case in 2017 in Shamli district.
The case was registered on Thursday against three brothers--Anwar, Arshad and Khursheed--and another person for reportedly murdering Tanveer two years ago.
Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar said the case was registered on the directive of chief judicial magistrate at Kairana and an investigation was underway in the matter.
According to the FIR filed on a complaint by Tanveer's wife Imrana, a resident of Gandrau village, the four accused took away the victim on December 30, 2017 and murdered him.
Imrana had filed a complaint under the Code Of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the court, alleging that the police took no action on her plea and even refused to file an FIR.
The court then issued the directive on Wednesday, asking the police to register the case and bring the culprits to book.
