Court rejects former MP finance minister Raghavji's bail plea

The bail application of disgraced former Madhya Pradesh finance minister Raghavji, who was arrested on sodomy charges was rejected by a local court today.
Raghavji's bail plea was rejected by Ninth Additional District Session Judge Sanjeev Kalgaonkar, ruling that charges against him were of a serious nature and since he was an influential person who held important posts for a long time, he may try to destroy evidence against him.
Besides, releasing him on bail at this juncture would also send a wrong message to society that the law is not equal for all, the judge said.
