Tamil Nadu unit of CPI(M) today assailed the AIADMK Government over the "deteriorating" law and order situation in the state and demanded steps to improve it.
"Be it murder for gain, crimes against women or Dalits it has been increasing over the years and it shows the deterioration of law and order in Tamil Nadu," CPI (M) State Secretary G Ramakrishnan told reporters here.
He urged the State government to initiate quick steps to address the issue and improve the law and order situation.
On education sector, he said the government run schools had been witnessing a decline in students' enrolment and closure stared several of them, he alleged.
He wanted State-run schools to be fully supported to ensure that poor students were not affected.
On his party's four-day 21st Tamil Nadu State Conference beginning on February 16 here, he said it would deliberate a host of issues including about victory of AAP in Delhi assembly polls.
Top leaders including Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury would participate, he added.
