Australia has beaten England by 49 runs to win the day/night fifth one-day international at Southampton to win the five-match series 2-1.
Yesterday, England set 299 to win, saw Kevin Pietersen run out for nought and, despite Ravi Bopara's 62, were never in the hunt before being bowled out for 249 with two overs to spare after left-arm seamer James Faulkner took three wickets for 38 runs.
Earlier, Australia made 298 all out after winning the toss, with Shane Watson top-scoring on 143 and sharing a fourth-wicket partnership of 163 with captain Michael Clarke (75).
